Research areas:

Organosilicon chemistry and catalysis by organometallic and inorganometallic compounds. Synthesis and reactivity of organic derivatives of silicon but also containing B, Ge, Sn, and other metalloids mainly in the presence of transition metal complexes. Properties and application of organosilicon compounds.

Among the main research topics are:

  • hydrosilylation of C=C and C≡C bonds
  • new homogeneous and immobilized catalysts and precursors
  • cross-metathesis and silylative coupling of olefins and acetylenes with vinyl-silicon compounds catalyzed by transition metal (Ru, Rh, Ir, Co) complexes. Application of Organosilicon products in organic synthesis
  • silylative coupling polycondensation and ADMET polymerization vs. ring-closure metathesis of silicon containing dienes (Ru, Rh complexes)
  • activation of =C-H and  ≡C-H bonds by M-Si, M-B, M-Ge, M-Sn (inorganometallics) and M-H complexes (M = Ru, Rh, Ir, Fe, etc.) over heteroatom- hydrogen bonds by olefins and acetylenes
  • metallation of =C-H and ≡C-H and heteroatom-hydrogen bonds by vinylmetalloids (Si, Ge, B)
  • new TM complexes with organosilicon ligands (siloxides, π-complexes, silylenes, carbenes) – synthesis, structure, reactivity and application to catalysis
  • synthesis and technology of molecular and macromolecular organosilicon compounds via TM catalysis as well their application as fine chemicals (precursors of materials),
  • functionalized silsesquioxanes as nanofillers and nanocompounds.
